The partition of prestigious institution leads to resentment of employees and several other organisations in Jabalpur. Golden Jubilee year celebration of BRBRAITT was celebrated two years back. It was strategically established in Jabalpur after World War-II and started functioning in year 1942 as Telecom Training Centre and its functioning was started in the year 1956 on a grand and beautiful landscape of 75-acres. Its three of the four hostels are being used by Dharmshastra Law University while several other residential quarters and bungalows are being given on rent to officers and employees of different government departments. Official sources informed that the shifting administrative block of BRBRAITT in Gaziabad Centre is the part of restructuring of BSNL which is passing through acute financial deficit. Ministry of Telecom and Broadcasting already invited option from employees of BSNL for Voluntary Retirement to one lakh employees. BRBRAITT has current strength of around 100 employees from which 48 officers were transferred and 37 executive and non-executive of total 49 employees applied for VRS and three employees were retired previous month. Total number of 72 trainees from Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar and other states are being trained in three batches at BRBRAITT. Circle Secretary of All India BSNL Executive Association Rajesh Saraogi informed that the partition of BRBRAITT is being carried out following the political unwillingness of public representatives in Jabalpur. TTC is one of the prestigious institutions in Jabalpur and its participation is a major setback for the city. He informed that his organization had already handed over a memorandum to the Members of Parliament in Jabalpur but no initiative taken place on their part for stopping the partition of institution.
