Lokpal to be appointed in varsities to redress students’ complaints: Patwari

Minister for Higher Education and Sports Jitu Patwari rolled out the draft of his department for year 2020 on Friday. Jitu Patwari said that for the redressal of students enrolled in all Government and non-government universities, State Lokpal will be appointed in the universities.

Addressing the press conference, Jitu Patwari told that from this year onwards, cent percent admission in all classes of higher education will be given through online process. Currently, online admission is only applicable for first year classes.
 
He told that under Rajiv Gandhi Jyoti Scheme, academic achievements will be amassed. The students taking admission will be able to get information about professors of colleges through online portal so that they can know about the faculty members.
 
Moreover, under pilot project of establishing excellent colleges of national level, colleges of eight divisions will be upgraded to new excellent colleges. National-level resources, labs, sports ground etc will be provided to them.
There would be online redressal of complaints regarding teaching and non teaching staff.
 
Under Cambridge assessment training programme, training in the form of pilot project to increase efficiency of English language of students and teachers of 33 colleges of 11 districts has been started.
 
All colleges will be connected through integrated college management system. Moreover, new education policy will be chalked out to increase the autonomy and quality of colleges.
 
As far as Sports Department’s vision is concerned then new academies will be opened in different parts of State. Football academy will be opened in Chhindwara while swimming academy will be opened in Indore. International-level hockey turf will be constructed in Balaghat and Indore. Hockey turf of Aishbagh and Tulsi Nagar will
be changed. Moreover, two new shotgun range in shooting academy will be established. The prize money of MLA cup is being doubled from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. World Dragon Boat championship will be organised in Indore. New sports tourism policy will be chalked out in State. Under new sports policy, sports quota will be provisioned. Asian Rowing Championship will be organised in Bhopal, he informed.
