Why chaos over CAA when there is no ‘Muslim’ word in it: Trivedi
   Date :04-Jan-2020
Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Spokesman and Member of Parliament Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi tried to clear the confusion surrounding Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) by telling that why there is so much chaos over it as it does not even contain ‘Muslim’ word. Whatever violence happened in the name of CAA protest is a matter of concern, he said.

Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi was addressing the press conference at BJP office on Friday. He told that only three types of persons are opposing the CAA. Firstly, those political parties which are out of power and they want to jump back to power at any cost. Secondly, those anti-national forces which get operated from foreign countries and are always in search of opportunities and are using CAA as a tool for their vested interests. Thirdly, those leaders are opposing it as they have hatred against PM Narendra Modi and just want to oppose him on any issue.

“The work of all three is equivalent to destroying the national integrity and communal harmony,” he told.
He added that as many as 90 per cent are dalits among those who are in line to get Indian citizenship. “But it is a matter of concern that those leaders and political parties which claims to be messiah of dalits are opposing the CAA,” he asserted.

“To protest the CAA, they stand with those who got SC, ST reservation abolished from Aligarh Muslim University and got reservation scrapped in Jamia University,” he alleged.

He told that in starting CAA was protested by alleging that Assam culture is in peril and it is irony that Indian Muslim League, which treads the tradition of Jinnah, filed PIL in Supreme Court. “The subject is of Assam culture and protest is happening in Jamia University, Aligarh Muslim University, that also by masking the faces,” he told. What is a matter of concern that issue is of Assam culture and proposal is being passed by Kerala Assembly. More aggressive statements are being given by Assauddin Owaisi. “It is beyond understanding that why they are losing the nerves for protection of Assam culture,” he quoted. More worrisome is this that being a national party, Congress is supporting the proposal of Kerala Assembly. “I want to ask a question to Congress that which Article of the Constitution empowers State Assemblies to comment on country’s foreign policy,” he rued. Going retrospective, he told that even Mahatma Gandhi told that minorities coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh should be given the refugee and also arrangement of their livelihood should be done. Congress is ahead in opposing CAA and this exposes its double standards. Congress MPs voted in favour of abrogation of Article 370 in Parliament but hit roads to protest it. Likewise, Congress MPs voted in favour of Triple Talaq Bill, but protested on the roads.

Trying to silent Opposition that why not Muslims from neighbouring countries have been given Indian citizenship, he told that Union Home Minister had told clearly that as many as 566 Muslims got the Indian citizenship. When asked over the Sewa Dal’s act of distributing objectionable literature on Veer Savarkar, he refused to comment on the controversy.
