Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has been initiating optimal efforts to make city uncluttered by deploying various innovative mode of awareness for cleanliness has proved abortive to create awareness among masses. Country-wide Swachh Survekshan now a days carries of substantial worth that enables a city to ensure its ranking among clean cities. Despite the fact that much is being done by municipal corporation has not been equally substantiated by denizens from the city or else Jabalpur would not have only lead in Madhya Pradesh but would have consolidated its ranking at the national level.
 
Had the JMC taken gravity of its move in befitting manners things would have proved highly conducive to make Jabalpur lead among top 10 cities in country-wide Swachh Survekshan. Ironically, the move initiated by the JMC to create sense of awareness among people belonging to various sections of society for which crores of rupees have been spend. The out come of the awareness drive get reflected in the fact that on average 5-7 calls are made by denizens from 79 municipal wards falling under 15 zones.
 
Cleanliness at home, colonies, municipal wards leaves its cumulative effect on a city that aspires to secure its position and ranking among clean cities. Apparently the JMC has been consistent to initiate optimal efforts to make city streets drains and the like clean to its best of its potential. Under the cleanliness move initiated by the municipal corporation door to door collection of garbage has assumed of prime importance still people have propensity to discard house hold waste on road side and very seldom in the dustbin placed by the municipal administration.
 
However the efforts initiated by the JMC seems to be half-heartedly substantiated by denizens as it aptly gets ratified with the fact that on an average there are 5-7 telephone complain call from denizens from 15 zones of JMC spread across the ambit of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation. It is informed that the JMC with an aim to ensure optimal cleanliness has launched mobile app 311 besides there are telephone number reserved for people having complaint on spread of garbage unattended garbage. Responding to this newspaper, Bhupendra Singh, Health Officer in JMC, said on our part we are initiating out level best effort to make city uncluttered as when ever we are informed about any instances of garbage lying unpicked our staff reaches there to take stock of the situation and provide immediate remedy against the compliant received.
 
On the issue of use of communication means by denizens to make the JMC staffers stand on their toes to carry out toil to make city clean. He said out of 15 zone comprising of 79 municipal wards. On an average we get 5-7 complaints from people about unpicked garbage and unclean venues. Singh said people also lodge complaint on CM help-line on issues having direct bearing with cleanliness. After being referred to us we take prompt action and give solution to the problem faced by denizens. As its now the level of awareness in view of huge expenses made by JMC seems to have left little impact among people. To make JMC staffers to act promptly to pick up garbage to make surrounding uncluttered get exposed with the fact that the meagre number of complaints on phone are lodged from 79 municipal wards falling under the ambit of JMC.
