Two-day special session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly is on the cards. This special session of Assembly is likely to be called this month itself to ratify the Constitution Amendment Bill, passed by the Parliament, to extend reservation to SCs-STs Reservation in Lok Sabha and state assemblies by another 10 years. Sources said that first day of session is likely to be called off after paying tributes to Congress MLA from Morena, late Banwarilal Sharma. He died after prolonged illness in Bhopal some days ago.
 
It will be on second day of special session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly that Constitution Amendment Bill to extend reservation to SCs-STs Reservation in Lok Sabha and state assemblies by another 10 years will be ratified. When contacted, Principal Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Assembly A P Singh told ‘The Hitavada’ that the two-day special session of Assembly is likely to be convened by Government on January 16 and 17 respectively.
 
The Constitution Amendment Bill to extend reservation to SCs-STs in Lok Sabha and state assemblies will be put before house for ratification. However, till date, the exact dates for two day special session of Assembly are yet to be decided. Sources in Madhya Pradesh Assembly told that Constitution Amendment Bill has reached till Government which is pondering to call two day special session shortly. Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava told ‘The Hitavada’ that Parliament had passed the bill and it has been sent to state assemblies for ratification and its ratification is mandatory as per norms.
