Raipur youths satisfied with the verdict in Nirbhaya case, but advocate for fast proceedings

The court verdict on Nirbhaya case was received with cheer by youths in Raipur. The decision to hang the convicts was much in expectation and people felt that there could have been no better way to give justice to Nirbhaya. Shruti Reddy said, “Nirbhaya verdict has ultimately prevailed justice to the victim and has send a strong message to the society. Such culprits should be publicly hanged to set an example for others. Finally, Justice was delayed, but not denied.”

Preeti Singh said, “I feel great that those culprits got the punishment for their deeds. But fast procedures should be adopted and strict laws should be made so that one should not dare do any wrong with the girls.” Rashmi Sharma said, “It’s time to act. This should have been done long before. But all is well that ends well. She expects quicker action in such cases without any mercy. They should be punished. Law should be brought into action. They should not only be on papers.” Pooja Yadav said, “We highly welcome the court’s decision. This will be a lesson for law breakers.” Apoorva Pradhan said, “I am somewhat relieved by the court decision. The process took so long that people have forgotten how heinous the crime was and it cannot be explained in words.

These cases should be treated as special case where the severity of crime should decide the severity of punishment. Law and order should be fast tracked in such cases. And even the juvenile should be handled the same way as the other culprits.” Pinky Suryavanshi said, “It’s victory of all the Nirbhayas of the country, the answer to the 7-year long battle has finally been received today, thanks to the judges for the decision. It is time for every rapist of the country to be hanged and give a strong message.”
