“SAFETY of passengers is top priority of Jabalpur Railway Division. Efforts are being made to ensure overall upliftment of Jabalpur Railway Station and providing best amenities to passengers. Even after extreme climatic condition, patrolling parties are dedicatedly working to check rail fracture to ensure safety and security of passengers. Railway officers also monitor location of patrolling teams through GPRS round-the-clock to avoid any irregularity,” informed Divisional Railway Manager, Jabalpur Division, Sanjay Biswas, while interacting with the media on Tuesday.
 
He informed that the railway administration is sensitive towards providing stress-free working environment to loco pilots for errorless operation of trains. Several orientation and counselling seminars are being organised in regular intervals for loco pilots and their family members to hear and redress their grievances and aware them of necessary precautions to avoid stress in their routine work. Replying to a query, DRM Biswas informed that the Railway Board has set some parameters for giving compulsory retirement to employees of 55 years or completing 30 years service.
 
A committee reviewed previous service record of employees under the parameters to evaluate service record, punishment and attendance. There is no employee under the criteria to give compulsory retirement in the division. The DRM informed that in order to check anti-social activities in trains and railway stations, RPF and GRP are maintaining coordination by rigorous patrolling to ensure safety of passengers and railway property.
 
He said to consider suggestions of reducing fair of special trains, vigilance of coach attendants, display of train numbers and coaches information for convenience of passengers and improving parking arrangements at railway stations. During the press conference, ADRM Anju Mohanpuria, Senior DCM, Basant Kumar Sharma, Manoj Kumar Gupta, Devesh Kumar Soni, Pankaj Dubey and others were present.
