As South West monsoon is preparing to bid adieu, dry weather prevails in most parts of Madhya Pradesh. Rains have stopped totally in larger swaths of State. Whatever rainfall activities are happening in few places it is due to local system. In last twenty four hours, rainfall was registered in few places of Ujjain, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur and Bhopal divisions. Mohkheda recorded rainfall of 8 cm followed by Bichua (4 cm), Sausar (3 cm), Tamia, Chaurai, Badodh, Jabra, Mandsaur (1 cm each) respectively.
 
The local forecast for Bhopal says that sky would be partial cloudy and few places of city may get light showers. As rains have taken the backseat, hence mercury level has started to rise. On Wednesday, Bhopal recorded maximum temperature of 32.9 degrees Celsius (one degree above normal).
 
As of now, Mandsaur, Morena, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Nivari, Tikamgarh, Katni, Chhattarpur are having below normal rainfall. Fifteen districts are having above normal rainfall. Overall, this monsoon season is going to end at good note as state received bountiful rains in last spell of season. Shortly, monsoon withdrawal process will start following which weather conditions will enter into transition phase.
