Former Finance Minister and MLA from Ballarpur Sudhir Mungantiwar has demanded to raise the age limit by one year for the entry into government service so that the unemployed people get fair treatment and their future should not be jeopardised due to prevailing pandemic. He argued that country is battling the global epidemic of Covid-19 for the last six months. Schools and colleges are closed. The Finance Department of the State Government has given clear instructions not to recruit any government post at the state as well as district level.

He has proposed that the age limit for entry into government service should be increased by one year in light of the pandemic to save the carrers of the unemployed people. Mungantiwar has forwarded an email to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Chief Secretary of the State with the demand. He has pointed out that Finance Department has issued a ruling that the state level as well as district level government posts should not be filled due to poor financial condition of the state while the state is battling with Covid-19.

Candidates whose age limit has neared the expiry faces the risk of losing a chance to get a government job as they will not be able to join the recruitment process this year. Now that one year has been completely wasted, it is imperative to increase this age limit to one year for job seeking youths, he said.
