Nagpur district on Friday experienced one change in daily Covid-19 update. There is a small gap between the number of new cases in rural area and those in Nagpur city. In Nagpur rural 234 tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, while city registered 396 new positive cases.

 

Number of new positive cases has come down drastically to 630. Number of persons recovered in one single day is double than the new positive cases. This has resulted in further improvement in recovery rate that is almost one per cent more than the national recovery rate.

 

With 630 new cases, the cumulative positive cases reached 84,997. Unlike cumulative recovery number the cumulative positive number is rising slowly. On Thursday, the cumulative positive number was 84,367, while on Friday it stands at 84,997. The cumulative recovery increased by 1,000 than what it was on Thursday. On Friday, 1,271 persons became coronavirus-free taking the cumulative recovery to 73,885. This has led to rise in recovery rate to 86.45%.

It is one per cent more than the national average which is 85.40%. This has also helped in reducing the active cases to 8,828. With the rise in number of recovered persons, the cumulative recovery and the recovery rate is improving. Reduction in active cases means less people in hospital. Unavailability of beds in hospitals has no more remained an issue now.

 

After decrease in number of Covid deaths on Thursday, the district witnessed again increase in the number of deaths in one single day. On Friday 20 people died of this dreaded virus, of which 7 were the residents of Nagpur rural ,while 13 were from Nagpur city. Number of deaths in rural Nagpur was four for the consecutive four days. But on Friday, the number increased by three. With these the cumulative deaths reached 2,466.

 

The number of testing experienced rise on Friday too like Thursday. The number of testing-- through RTPCR and Rapid Antigen registered are 6,809. The testing in Nagpur city are 5,313 while in rural the number is 1,496. Of the total testing on Friday, 3,512 are through RT-PCR, while 3,297 are through Rapid Antigen Test. The cumulative number reached 5,05,941.

 

Apart from the samples of Nagpur district, the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined. The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include Virology Laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (354), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (577), Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (340), National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (257), Centre for Zoonosis, Nagpur Veterinary College affiliated to Maharashtra Animal Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU) (138), private laboratories and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (1,806), Antigen (3,297).covid cases; recoveries improve further
