Single day recoveries surpass fresh COVID-19 cases in MP

Single-day recoveries outnumbered new COVID-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh on Friday as 2,200 people were cured of the infection and 1,647 tested positive for the disease, a Health Department bulletin said.
 
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state is currently at 86.95 per cent, up marginally from 86.38 per cent on Thursday. The fresh infections have increased the state’s caseload to 1,43,669, the bulletin said.
 
The death toll rose to 2,574 after twenty-seven patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, it said.
Of the new fatalities, six were reported from Indore, four from Jabalpur and three corona patients succumbed in Bhopal.
 
Two corona patients lost their battle and died in Khargone district. Meanwhile a COVID-19 patient died each in Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Betul, Satna, Chhindwara, Khandwa, Raisen, Harda, Singrauli and in Sheopur districts.
 
Indore has registered the highest number of COVID-19 deaths at 621, followed by Bhopal at 423 and Jabalpur at 175. Bhopal now has 1,983 active cases, while 16,975 people have recovered from the disease, the bulletin said.
The maximum number of new cases were detected in Indore district at 441, followed by Bhopal (228), Jabalpur (114), Gwalior (92) and Raisen (37).
 
Over 23.48 lakh samples have been tested in the state so far, including 28,027 on Thursday, the bulletin said. Indore district has reported the maximum number of coronavirus cases at 28,199, followed by Bhopal at 19,575, and Gwalior at 11,168.
