RAIPUR,

Terming the so called ‘Notice’ issued by the State Government to Dr Richa Jogi regarding her social status, as unlawful, Kota MLA Dr Renu Jogi submitted a memorandum to Governor Anusuiya Uikey seeking her immediate intervention and ask Mungeli Collector for necessary clarifications. In her memorandum, Dr Renu Jogi, who happens to be the Mother-in-Law of Dr Richa Jogi, stated that her family came to know about the notice issued by Mungeli Collector through media reports regarding verification of social status of Dr Richa Jogi. She said her family is facing great humiliation because of the act of the so-called committee of leaking the information which is personal and confidential in nature and which mischievously and deliberately Richa has not been made privy to. She said Richa has not been served with said notice either on the address provided by her while applying for the social status certificate or at the address mentioned in her Aadhar card which she submitted while making the application.

Dr Jogi maintained from the perusal of the notice which is being circulated in the media, it appears that some complaint has been made against Richa and this committee chose to initiate proceedings for cancellation of her social status certificate. As per news report the exercise has been initiated on complaint made by Sant Kumar Netam. She said if any such complaint has been made, the Mungeli Collector after taking cognizance should serve notice to Richa so that she can put forth her case in reply to the notice.

Terming the amendments made by the state government in the Chhattisgarh Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Regulation of Social Status Certification) Rules, 2013 through a notification issued on September 24, 2020 as illegal, Dr Renu Jogi in her memorandum stated that the these illegalities clearly demonstrate that District Collector Mungeli has proceeded in the most illegal and arbitrary manner ignoring all the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Regulation of Social Status Certification) Rules, 2013.

Dr Renu Jogi demanded through the memorandum that Dr Richa Jogi should be provided with the copy of notification issued by the Chhattisgarh government constituting the District Level Certificates Verification Committee for the District of Mungeli, copy of the complaint/complaints that have been made against Dr Richa Jogi regarding her Social Status Certificate, proper service of the so-called notice dated September 29, right of personal hearing and leading evidence as per the principles of natural justice and as per provisions of the Chhattisgarh SC, ST and OBC (Regulation of Social Status Certification) Act, 2013 and Chhattisgarh SC, ST and OBC (Regulation of Social Status Certification) Rules 2013 and Richa be granted reasonable time of at least 10 days from the date of proper service of notice as stipulated in the Acts and Rules for submitting her case before the Committee. Dr Jogi urged the Governor that Collector Mungeli is unconstitutionally and unlawfully denying Richa her right. It seems the ruling Government has gone so paranoid with the by-elections in Marwahi that it is adopting all sorts of measures to malign the social and political image of the Jogi family.
