Adhartal police have nabbed three men and seized Rs 17.76 lakh cash from them in Maharajpur area in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The arrested have been identified as Jitendra Singh alias Banga (50), son of Mahendra Singh Punjabi, native of near Sanatan Dharm Mandir, Gorakhpur and currently lived at Baramati Gurudwara, Pune district in Maharashtra, Rajesh Bhasin alias Pappu Punjabi (55), son of Jankiram Bhasin of near Baramati Juna Kachahri in Pune district, Maharashtra and Indrapal Singh (40), son of late Amarjeet Singh, resident of Tulsi Nagar near Mohit Kirana in Ranjhi, Jabalpur.
 
SHO of Adhartal police station Mahendra Mishra informed that under the direction of Superintendent of Police Siddharth Bahuguna police have started a random checking campaign in different areas during night hours. During checking at Richhai turning in Maharajpur, police stopped three men riding on a motorcycle (MP-20KP-0258). Riders named themselves as Jitendra Singh alias Bagga, Rajesh Bhasin alias Pappu Punjabi and Indrapal Singh.
 
In the search of their bag, police found Rs 17,26,900 cash. Miscreants failed in giving any satisfactory reply pertaining to possessing bulk cash with them and tried to mislead police. Police have arrested suspected men and registered a case against them under Section 102 of CrPC. In further questioning, Jitendra Singh informed that he had stolen cash from his sister-in-law named Bala Singh who was staying at his house. Police have handed over the accused to Income Tax Department for further investigations. Miscreants were arrested with active working of police team comprising SI Mahendra Mishra, SI Surendra Singh, PSI Mahendra Jaiswal, Head Constable Manoj Goswamy and constables Sunil Dubey and Sanjay Dixit.
