ARANG,

Veterinary Department is carrying out vaccination drive to protect the cows from infectious diseases in the Arang Development Block. The team of vets is reaching out to the home of cattle-rearers and inoculating & tagging their animals.

Assistant Veterinary Regional Officer Mithlesh Hirwani informed that tagging could be a successful parameter for cow conservation and safety of cattle. The team also prepared medical biodata of each vaccinated cow. The tag serial number was also linked to the Aadhar number of cow owner, to easily identify them. This will set accountability in case their animals are found roaming openly on roads or munching crops. It also enable to take legal action on cattle owners. This will directly benefit the farmers who would be able to grow oilseeds and lentils after paddy crops.

Tags will also help vets to monitor any fatality from infectious disease. The Gauthan is run by Management Committee president Chandravijay Sahu, members Khamhan Sahu, Rekhram Kurre, Sukhiram Sahu, Vicky Sahu, herders Mansukh Sahu, Komal Yadav, Surendra Sahu and Santu Sahu.
