CM for Fast Track Courts in all distts for hearing sexual offence cases

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has written to Justice P R Ramachandra Menon, Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh, urging him for notifying Fast Track Courts in districts for fast hearing of all cases pertaining to sexual offences. He also assured to provide all necessary assistance to Fast Track Courts in conducting fast hearing. In his letter to the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister said that increasing sexual offences against women and children has become an issue of grave concern.
 
Despite sufficient law enacted for the same, such crimes are gradually rising instead of coming down. He said timely justice delivery is also a matter of concern. Adding that it is our collective responsibility to provide swift justice to the victims of sexual offences and the accused should get strict punishment, the Chief Minister said it has become necessary that cases of sexual offences are heard and disposed off at the earliest so that fast justice can be provided to victims.
 
The Chief Minister further urged the Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh that required numbers of Fast Track Courts should be notified in every district so that fast disposal of sexual offences cases can be ensured. He also urged that a time limit should be fixed for disposal of such cases and hearing should take place on a day-to-day basis. The Chief Minister assured that the state government would provide all necessary assistance required for establishment of Fast Track Courts. He appealed to the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh to issue necessary orders in this direction.
