A man, who was stabbed in full public glare at a traffic signal in State Capital’s Jaistambh Chowk, succumbed to his injuries, while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Raipur on Tuesday morning. Over a minor verbal duel, the accused identified as Shafiq Ali (20) and Mohsin Ali (25), both residents of Urkura under Vidhan Sabha police station, allegedly stabbed Irshad, hailing from Kondagaon district, said police sources, elaborating that the victim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur this morning.
 
Police sources further informed that the accused assailants, who were on run after the crime, have been arrested and the weapon used in the crime was also seized by police investigators. Moreover, the investigators have also seized the clothes of the accused, which they wore at the time of crime. In connection with the incident, police have registered an offence under Section 302 (punishment for murder), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under relevant Section of Arms Act, said police sources, adding that further probe in the case is underway. Notably, the accused youths, who were street vendors, allegedly stabbed Irshad after a verbal duel broke out between them over bargaining of roadside eye-gears.
