People urged to wear mask during ‘Operation Mask’

Complying with the directives of the District Collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan, Raipur Police in association with Raipur Municipal Corporation and a NGO on Wednesday launched a campaign ‘Operation Mask’ to stem the spread of Novel Coronavirus by making people compulsorily wear masks. Under this campaign, action against around 1000 persons were taken for not wearing mask/face-cover while venturing out on October 14, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Satish Thakur.
 
By forming multiple teams, the campaign was carried out in 10 separate locations of city, added DSP Traffic. DSP Thakur further informed that by the morning itself, the teams started action against errant people not wearing masks on prominent squares, roads, markets, four-wheeler, passenger vehicles and others.
 
Moreover, the people not wearing masks are also being closely monitored with the help of cameras installed under Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) and traffic cops are seizing vehicles of people for not wearing masks.
