DLSC also directs the Mungeli SDO to issue an suspension order of caste certificate of Richa Jogi

A seven-member District-level Screening Committee (DLSC) headed by Additional District Magistrate Rajesh Nashine has suspended the Scheduled Tribe certificate of Richa Jogi, daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi. Talking to mediapersons on Thursday, Additional District Magistrate Mungeli Rajesh Nashine said that the DLSC has suspended the ST certificate of Richa Jogi. Richa Rupali Sadhu, daughter of Praveen Raj Sadhu has failed to produce her original documents before the DLSC, so the Committee suspended the ST certificate of Richa Jogi, he added.

The DLSC will send Richa Jogi’s caste related matter to the State-level High Powered Committee for further decision. The DLSC has also directed the Mungeli Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) to issue an order for suspension of the caste certificate of Richa Jogi. After this decision, this caste certificate cannot be used by Richa Jogi. Now, Richa Jogi cannot contest Marwahi by-poll on JCC(J) ticket. Speaking to The Hitavada over telephone, Mungeli Collector Padum Singh Alma said that he has not received the DLSC’s order in connection with Richa Jogi’s caste case.

Meanwhile, JCC(J) President Amit Jogi, husband of Richa Jogi, said that the DLSC suspended the caste certificate of Richa Jogi under pressure from the Congress Government because Richa Jogi is the daughter-in-law of Ajit Jogi and Dr Renu Jogi. Amit Jogi alleged that Congress Government wants to prevent Jogi family members from contesting Marwahi by-election. Amit Jogi said that Richa Jogi has sought additional time for submission of original documents from the DLSC, but the Committee didn’t give additional time. Amit Jogi said that a writ petition has been filed in the High Court in connection with Richa Jogi’s caste issue and the matter has been intimated to Chief Electoral Officer. State Congress Spokesman Vikas Tiwari refuted the allegations of JCC (J) President Amit Jogi saying that the DLSC has taken decision after Richa Jogi failed to produce her caste related original documents.

The Committee examined all aspects in this matter and this is an administrative decision not a political decision, Tiwari added. It may be mentioned that Richa Jogi applied for online application for caste certificate and the Mungeli district administration issued her ST caste certificate. Later, Richa Jogi’s caste certificate was challenged. Earlier, a delegation of Congress party led by retired Indian Administration Service (IAS) officer and Kanker MLA Shishupal Shori had handed over a memorandum to Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhawan, demanding investigation into fake caste certificates of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi’s family members.
