One seat distance in halls, 50 per cent capacity, masks at all time and hand sanitisation are among the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) to be followed at cinema halls, multiplexes and theatres which will reopen in Bhopal from Friday. Due to coronavirus pandemic, the cinema halls in State will reopen after a big long interval of almost six months.

All cinema halls will observe 50 per cent occupancy, maintain staggered show timings and follow social distancing protocols to prevent moviegoers. Among the new changes that people are going to witness are thermal screening, protection gear like PPE kits for staffers and compulsory providing of phone numbers for contact tracing.

Cinema halls will also promote the use of digital payment systems and increase the number of counters at the box office for single-screen theatres. Frequent sanitation protocols will also be followed. All food that is served will be sterilised under UV rays in a machine for a few minutes before it is handed over to the customer.
