CS issues directives for
Chief Secretary R P Mandal has directed district collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to ensure withdrawal of political cases and cases against tribals after scrutiny of these cases within time limit. Chief Secretary Mandal held a meeting with all Divisional Commissioners, Inspector General of police, collectors, Superintendent of Police, chief executive officers of Jila Panchayats and Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) through video conferencing to review the government schemes and programmes.
 
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that according to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s instructions, the political cases and cases against tribals would be withdrawn by State Government. These cases should be scrutinised on priority and necessary action should be taken within time limit, he added. Mandal has also directed the officers to ensure pending compensation to the rape victims under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act soon.
 
The Chief Secretary reviewed preparedness for paddy procurement, construction of vermi tanks, farmers’ registration and girdawari, preventive measures for COVID-19 pandemic and other government schemes in the meeting. Mandal has directed the officers to provide 200 days employment to the Forest Rights Act (FRA) beneficiaries under MGNREGS.
 
Mandal has asked the officers to send proposal to State Government for merger of Shikshakarmis, who have completed their two-year services besides various other directives to the officers. Director General of Police D M Awasthi, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Rakesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Subrat Sahoo, Additional Chief Secretary Renu G Pillay, Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Gaurav Dwivedi, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr M Geetha, Secretary of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department Dr Kamalpreet Singh, Revenue Secretary Reeta Shandilya, Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Prasanna R, Managing Director of MARKFED Ankit Anand, Director of Public Instructions Jitendra Shukla and other officers attended the meeting.
