Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve likely to start Night Safari within a week

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR) is likely to start night safari in its buffer zone shortly. A new safari route in Panpatha zone of reserve will be addition to the existing safari system. This will be a two hours safari allowed from 7 pm to 9 pm with limited number of vehicles.
 
Currently, repairing work is going on in Panpatha zone post-monsoon. The reserve officials said that night safari is being started in buffer zone only to attract the tourist. A special kind of light is being installed in the area that would not harm the environment. The reserve Deputy Director, Siddharth Gupta said, “We can also call it as late night safari under strict safety measures. Currently, finishing work around the bridge in Panpatha zone is continuing and kacchha road is being repaired post-monsoon.
 
It will take around two weeks to start the new safari. He further informed that safety protocol has been set for the visitors to be followed strictly. Apart from the pandemic, there are also protocols to avoid disturbance to wildlife as per NTCA guidelines. He said, only limited number of vehicles will be allowed to enter he zone during night hours. New safari will help to boost business opportunities for locals and forest dwellers. “Vendors will set their shops, adventurous activities, restaurants, resorts, etc that will boost business opportunities,” he added.
