A delegation of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders led by BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh called upon Governor Anusuiya Uikey and submitted a memorandum on deteriorating law and order situation in State and prevailing political vendetta against BJP workers. A delegation of senior BJP leaders including BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh, BJP Legislative Party Leader Dharamlal Kaushik, former Ministers Brijmohan Agrawal, Ajay Chandrakar and Rajesh Munat, senior BJP leader Ramvichar Netam, MP Sunil Soni, MLA Shivratan Sharma, former Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, Motilal Sahu, Akhilesh Soni and other BJP office-bearers called upon Governor Anusuiya Uikey and submitted the memorandum. In the memorandum, the BJP alleged that due to the arbitrariness and negligence of the ruling Congress Government, the anti-social elements are ruling the roost in State.

Cases of heinous crime against women, particularly rape cases have increased manifold in every part of State and the morale of anti-social elements are so high that they are carrying out such heinous crimes against children and minor as well. They further alleged that apart from increasing cases of crime against women, the whole State has come under the grip of psychotropic substances (drugs) and supply and consumption of such drugs in high-end private parties has become a common issue. Also cases of hooliganism, loot, dacoity, etc have become common factors in State. Apart from all these issues, the incumbent ruling Congress Government under Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is not only contravening the public representatives but BJP party workers and office-bearers are being targeted.

Political vendetta is meted against BJP workers by registering false cases across State. In a recent incident, similar false cases have been registered against BJP workers in Patan, a Legislative Assembly represented by the Chief Minister himself. Opposing these illegal arrests, Durg MP Vijay Bhaghel had initiated a hunger strike since October 14, unfortunately, the administration and the government is not serious about it which amounts to be the biggest strike on democratic system. The BJP delegation urged the Governor to take strict cognisance of the deteriorating law and order situation in State and prevailing political vendetta against BJP workers, particularly the Patan incident and seek report from the Home Minister and to take appropriate action.
