Rehabilitate homeless based near Yashwant Stadium: Shop owners

Shop owners based in Yashwant Stadium located at Dhantoli in the city have raised voice against many homeless who are occupying space in the area. Highlighting that the homeless spend most of their time in the sheds in front of the shops, the shop owners said it has been posing a big threat to the health of the traders and visiting customers. The shop owners, under the banner of Yashwant Stadium Entrepreneurs Association, Nagpur, have also brought the issue to the notice of the Nagpur Municipal Commissioner and urged the authorities to take action against the homeless.
 
Yashwant Stadium is one of the prestigious and renowned shopping areas where a large number of people come every day. Moreover it is located in the heart of the city. However, for many days many homeless people are taking shelter in the area. They prepare their food in the open space and sleep in the sheds of the shops. Their presence is also affecting parking system in the area.
 
According to the shop owners, the illegal occupants are dirtying the area besides posing a big threat to the health of one and all , especially in the current phase of coronavirus. Recently the authorities had displaced the homeless but in a span of 20 to 25 days they came back to the area. In a letter to the Municipal Commissioner, President of the Yashwant Stadium Entrepreneurs Association - Anil Agrawal said that there is urgent need to rehabilitate the homeless and make the area free from clutches as soon as possible.
