Visarjan Kund at Bhitauli ready for immersion of idols.

Culmination of nine days’ festival of Durgaotsav essentially takes place with immersion of idols installed by various pooja pandals. Previously immersion of idols used to take place on river banks of Narmada at Gwarighat, Tilwaraghat and other banks. But in view of directives issued by the NGT on the issue of water pollution caused due to immersion of idols by various pooja committees, the district administration has over the years started with specific mode of immersion of idols.
Accordingly, ‘Visarjan Kund’ immersion ponds have been constructed at Gwarighat and Tilwaraghat. According to information in view of immersion of idols that would take place on the culmination of nine days’ festivity. Collector Karmveer Sharma, SP Siddharth Bahuguna, along with other senior officlass of the administration, carried out inspection at Visarjan Kund at Bhitauli Gwarighat. In course of inspection, the senior officers of administration issued instructions on short comings found at the Visarjan Kund.
The instructions issued by senior officers of administration have been accomplished amidst priority. At present. work is being done at Visarjan Kund for immersion of idols on the culmination day of Navratri in a highly systematic manner. Under the renovation carried out steps have been constructed at the immersion pond. Discharge of pond water that previously used to get merged with the river has been altered. Now water of the immersion pond will get discharged without causing pollution in the river water. Besides facilities have been enhanced for people who would visit the immersion pond for immersion of idols.
