GADCHIROLI, A signature campaign was taken up recently by the District Congress Committee (DCC) against Central Government’s farm laws. The campaign was launched at the hands of Dr Namdeo Usendi, District Congress Committee President and Manohar Patil Poretti, Vice President of Zilla Parishad. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Usendi alleged, “Central Government has hatched a conspiracy against agriculture and farmers in the country. It is an evil design of the government to destroy the green revolution. It is a ploy to enslave farmers and labourers by big industrialists,” he alleged.

The laws were brought without fully complying with the parliamentary procedures and without any discussion on the issue in the floor of the house,” he said. Poretti also spoke on the occasion and demanded early withdrawal of farm laws. Farmers and Congress workers in the country will not tolerate this anymore, he warned. The leaders then toured many villages in the area including Murumgaon, Sawargaon, Dhanora, Kotgul, Korchi etc and talked to the congress workers and farmers.

They understood the problems of farmers and other people and assured to get them solved. The leaders called upon people to participate in the signature campaign in large numbers and compel Central Government to withdraw the ‘black laws’. Vinod Lengure, ZP councilor, Parasram Pada, Sanjay Gawde, Sadukar Halami, Kaushik Dhurwe and others were present on the occasion.
