 Shops gutted in fire in New Market area near TT Nagar.

A major fire broke out in New Market area in the wee hours of Tuesday. More than 12 shops were burnt as they were adjacent to each other. Though no major causality has been reported but lakhs of rupees have been lost in this accident. The fire was reported in the wee hours when some locals saw smoke coming out a shop in New Market TT Nagar area around 2.30 am. Subsequent to this fire team was called on the spot and police officials also reached. BMC Fire Officer Rameshwar Neel said that around 25 fire brigades reached the spot and fire was controlled after four hours.
 
The cause of fire is yet to ascertained but it is basically due to short circuit. Fire tenders reached from Pul Bogda, Mata Mandir, BHEL and other places. There was chaos in the market due to fire. According to officials, the fire was completely controlled at around 6:30 am. But the cause of the fire is not known. But the police and fire team are considering it as a short circuit. However, till morning none of the traders had made any work and did not open shops in New Market area.
