Celebrating the State-level wildlife week, Van Vihar National Park conducted bird watching and nature camp on Saturday. 50 participants from Youth Hostel and 55 bird lovers watched different bird species in the park during the programme. They watched birds like little commemorate, great cormorant, purple sunbird, Green Bee-eater, Red Munia, Whistling Teal, Moorhen, Drongo, Silverbill Munia, Robin, Night Heron, Black Redstart, Ashy Prinia, Jacana, Kingfisher, Heron, Lepwing, Dove, little eaeget, Baya Weaver, etc species. A K Khare, Dr Sudesh Baghmare, Dr Sangeeta Rajgeer, Mohammed Khalid and other experts were present to guide the participants during bird watching camp.
 
On the occasion, a treasure hunt was also organised in which 15 teams participated. The programme was conducted with the help of MP Tiger Foundation Society. Celebration was started from October 1 with photo exhibition on ‘Wildlife in their habitat’ theme. Best three photographs will be rewarded with cash prize. A cleanliness campaign was also organised as part of the celebration.
 
During the programme, following safety norms against Covid-19 pandemic were mandatory for all. All participants and officials were asked to follow safety norms including wearing face mask, maintaining social distancing, ensuring sanitisation, etc. On Sunday there will be nature campus ‘know the butterflies’ and interactive session with animal housing keepers and staff.
