Rashtrapati Jeevan Raksha Padak conferred upon Rakesh Tiwari for bravery 
 
Jabalpur Municipal Corporation Divisional Officer Rakesh Tiwari has been honoured with Rashtrapati Jeevan Raksha Padak for saving life of two boys from drowning in Narmada river. He was conferred with the award and cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. Rakesh Tiwari was honoured with the award given by President of India Ram Nath Kovind at the hands of Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh, former Minister and MLA Ajay Vishnoi, former Minister and MLA Tarun Bhanot, MLA Susheel Tiwari, MLA, Nandini Maravi, MLA, Vinay Saxena, MLA, Sanjay Yadav, Collector, Karmveer Sharma and Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna at Collectorate Meeting Hall. Rakesh Tiwari is an ardent sportsman and associated with several sports associations for promotion of sports in the district.
 
In year 2017, Rakesh Tiwari witnessed two boys who were drowning in river Narmada. Witnessing the incident, Rakesh Tiwari dived into the river and saved the boys. On his remarkable achievement, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, Commissioner, Anoop Kumar Singh, senior officers and employees, senior sports officers, office-bearers of several sports associations and players have congratulated him and wished for success in future.
