People are facing a tough time as prices of essential vegetables, namely potatoes, onion, cauliflower, capsicum, tomatoes, and the like, have recorded alarming increase. Apparently immediate reason behind the high price is the demand and supply ratio along with hike in transportation cost of various commodities. With price of tomato that was around Rs 20 per kilogram as of being sold at Rs 50, same is the case with potatoes was earlier priced at Rs 25 is now available at Rs 50 per kilogram, capsicum at Rs 80 per kilogram. Increase in transportation cost of vegetables along with less supply has started recorded hike in price of vegetables.

As the price rise has made vegetables beyond the reach of common man. About the hike in vegetable market it informed vegetables starting from potatoes are priced at Rs 50 per kilogram, onions also crosses Rs 40 mark, tomatoes are available at Rs 50 per kg. Similarly capsicum is being sold at Rs 80, while garlic, cauliflower and several vegetables have recorded considerable increase from its previous cost a month ago. Supply of vegetables from outstation with local supply being hampered has paved for hoarding of vegetables. As retail traders in their bid to mint money have dumped in warehouses and release goods owing to demand made in market. Meanwhile increase in price of vegetables has added much trouble to common man and middle class society who remain anguished to procure vegetables from market.
