Two critically injured in road mishap

TWO, including a woman, were critically injured while one other sustained minor injuries when a rashly driven truck dashed them in a row in Industrial Area, Bhilai on late Saturday evening. After the mishap the accused truck driver fled the spot while leaving the truck at Chhaoni Chowk in Bhilai. Police sources informed that at about 8 pm on Saturday, Leelaram Verma, a resident of Kargil Chowk, Chhaoni, Bhilai was on way home on his motorbike while his brother Vimal Verma was sitting at the pillion when a speeding truck (CG07/CA/9877) dashed them from behind and owing to impact Vimal Verma was thrown away, sustaining minor injuries while his brother Leelaram Verma received serious head injuries in the mishap that occurred near Tiranga Chowk , Bhilai.
 
After the mishap the victims were rushed to the hospital wherein the condition of Leelaram Verma is stated to critical while Vimal Verma was discharged after the first aid. The police said that Leelaram Verma is admitted to ICU unit of the hospital and he is still undergoing treatment. Police sources further informed that in another mishap in a row the same over speeding truck dashed Madhvi Sahu, a resident of Ghasidas Nagar, Jamul near Shankar Nagar area in Industrial Area, Bhilai while causing her serious head injuries. After the mishap the victim woman was hospitalised for treatment and her condition was stated to stable. After having dinner Madhvi Sahu was out for taking walk when the truck dashed her.
 
On information a Jamul police team reached the spot immediately and seized the truck involved in the mishap. The police got removed the truck for ensuring smooth vehicular traffic through the location. While acting in the matter Jamul police registered the offence against the accused truck driver under Sections 279 and 337 of Indian Penal Code for rash driving and causing injuries to the persons. D Mandawi, I/c Station House Officer, Jamul Police Station informed that the offence was already registered in the matter and the police are on lookout for the absconding accused truck driver.
