Ravindra Bhediya, IPS, retired Inspector General of Police and husband of Women and Social Welfare Minister Anila Bhediya, breathed his last on Sunday late night, after he suffered a severe cardiac arrest. Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel have deeply condoled the sad demise of Ravindra Bhediya. In her message, Governor Anusuiya Uikey said she’s deeply saddened by the sad demise of Ravindra Bhediya.
 
“I pray for the peace of the departed soul and may the Almighty give strength to his family members to bear this irreparable loss.” Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel extended his deep anguish on the sad demise of Bhediya and prayed for the departed soul. Extending his deep condolence to his grieved family members, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give them strength to bear the loss. Retd IG Ravindra Bhediya, who was the husband of Women and Social Welfare Minister Anila Bhediya, breathed his last at a city hospital while undergoing treatment. Earlier, Bhediya was rushed to the hospital after he suffered severe cardiac arrest at midnight.
 
It is worth mentioning here that just a week before Bhediya was discharged from the hospital after he was cured from COVID-19 infection. Bhediya who was at the official residence of his wife and Minister Anila Bhediya, suffered cardiac arrest and fell unconscious when he went to the bathroom to relieve himself. He was thereafter rushed to the hospital, where he breathed his last. Retd IG Ravindra Bhediya had engaged himself with social and political activities after his retirement.
 
He had retired from the post of IG three years back and was a prime contender for contesting election but the Congress gave ticket to his wife. After his sad demise, the mortal remains of Ravindra Bhediya was taken to his native village Pipparchedi in Dondilohara under Balod district, where his last rites were performed on Monday.
