A team of District Excise Department raided an illegal kiln of country-made liquor at a house and nabbed a man in Kuchbandhiya Mohalla, on Tuesday. Excise team destroyed 1,200 kilograms raw materials used for production of liquor and seized 60 litres country-made liquor from the spot. The accused has been identified as Vinod Kuchbandhiya, son of Jangal Kuchbandhiya, a resident of Kuchbandhiya Mohalla, Sheetlamai Ward in Ghamapur.
 
Excise Control Room In-charge, G L Maravi informed that under the direction of Collector, Karmveer Sharma (IAS), they have started a special campaign under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner, SN Dubey against illegal trade and transportation of liquor. During the campaign, they received information about a suspected man who was operating illegal kiln of country-made liquor at his house situated in Kuchbandhiya Mohalla.
 
Acting promptly on the information, Excise team started a search and raided the identified spot. Team nabbed the accused named Vinod Kuchbandhiya and destroyed 1,200-kilograms Mahua and Lahan (raw material) used for production of liquor and seized 60-litres illegal stock of country-made liquor from the spot. Excise Department has registered a case under Section 34(1)A and 34(2) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act while further investigations are underway. Accused were arrested by Excise team comprised of Assistant District Excise Officer, GD Lahoriya, Ramji Pandey, Bharti Gond, Excise SI, Ravishankar Yadav, Ramayan Dwivedi, Girija Dhurve and others.
