South West monsoon retreats from entire Gwalior Chambal division

South West monsoon has withdrawn from entire Gwalior and Chambal division and from a few parts of Ujjain, Bhopal divisions. The withdrawal of monsoon from remaining parts of State is likely in coming days. With this, monsoon is beating retreat from state. Even as monsoon withdrawal process is underway, some parts of state are getting drenched by localised rainfall activities.
 
In last twenty four hours, rains occurred in sundry regions of Jabalpur, Rewa and Indore divisions respectively. The rest regions of state experienced dry weather. Gohparu received rainfall of 5 cm, Mohgaon, Lanji (3 cm each), Pali, Baihar, Mhouganj, Malajkhand (2 cm each) and Anuppur, Channodi (1 cm each) respectively. As rains have become conspicuous by their absence in maximum swathes of State, mercury level is gradually soaring.
 
The highest maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius was recorded in Hoshangabad, the lowest minimum temperature of 17 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bhopal, Naugaon and Datia. The forecast made by Weather Department says that rainfall and thunder activities are likely in many places of Shahdol division and few places of Rewa division respectively. A few places of Jabalpur division may also get drenched. Thunder activities are likely in few places of Rewa and Shahdol divisions and districts including Katni, Jabalpur, Balaghat and Mandla.
