Chhattisgarh’s Surguja district has immense possibilities for development of infrastructure as well as tourism, stated Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday. “Surguja is full of mountains, forests, rivers and waterfalls. Mainpat, which is called as Shimla of Chhattisgarh, is also located in Surguja where the climate and natural beauty is very unique in itself.
 
The tourism destination not just gives leisure time to tourists but also ensures employment opportunities to the local population,” said CM Baghel. Baghel was addressing a programme, through video conference, organised for laying the foundation and dedication of developmental works in Surguja worth Rs 154.63 crore. He further said that State Government’s schemes are being implemented better in Sarguja be it Narwa, Garwa, Ghuruwa and Baadi Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Nyaya Yojana, Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan, Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme and others. Moreover, the position that Ambikapur has achieved in the field of cleanliness is also notable in the country as well as overseas. Many innovative works are being done by the women of the Self Help Group of Surguja district. Beautiful and attractive carpet work is being done by the women in Mainpat.
 
This carpet work should be taken forward commercially so that it can reach the other parts of State as well as the country and the women engaged in this work can get maximum income. Through video conferencing, CM Baghel has dedicated and laid the foundation of developmental works to the tune of over Rs 154.63 crore, which include foundation laying of works of over Rs 126.20 crore. Meanwhile, CM Baghel announced numerous development works as demanded by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat and Lundra MLA Dr Preetam Ram.
 
On the occasion, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat and School Education Minister Dr Premsai Tekam also addressed the programme and shared the vision and mission of Chhattisgarh Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
