Like every year New Market Vyapari Sangh organised bhoomipujan to set up Durga pandal in vicinity. On Wednesday this programme was organised with COVID-19 compliance. The traders said that all norms will be followed.

The pandals size will be 30 feet x 45 feet. As smaller pandals were seen as more susceptible to overcrowding bigger pandals can ensure social distancing. New Market areas Durga idols cater attention of many locals every year and utsav samiti is geared up to celebrate festival in tradition manner. Notably, other restrictions are still in place the traditional garba dance remains prohibited and only 10 members of each organising committee will be allowed to take part in the procession to immerse the idols.

The Vyapari Sangh is also involved in Roko Toko campaign and to ensure cleanliness Swachhta Mitra from their association is being selected which plays vital role in waste segregation, twin bin implementation, wearing mask and social distancing in city market. Additional to that these volunteers are also urging shopkeepers to not to encroach upon roads especially as it leads to congestion in market areas in festive season. Due to COVID-19 special care is being taken in city markets.
