Railway officials said that after making first chart, vacant seats will be booked for applicants and then second chart will be prepared
In a passenger-friendly move, Railways has changed its reservation system with effect from October 10. Passengers who want to travel in an emergency situation can book a rail ticket five minute prior to the departure of train. The facility of confirm ticket can be availed from reservation counters of railway station and online ticket reservation platforms. Around 120 seats in each train will be allotted to the passengers after preparing the first chart.
After preparing the reservation chart, vacant seats will be allotted to the passenger. Then railway will be preparing the second chart about five minutes before departure of the train. The facility is being started from October 10. Railway has urged the concerned company to make changes in the software. Currently, Bhopal express and other few trains witness 15 to 20 per cent seats going vacant but these seats do not get book for needy after preparing the chart.
Concerned over the problem of passengers who wish to travel in emergency situation, railway has started the scheme to book vacant seats from half hour to five minutes before departure. Railway officials said that after making first chart, vacant seats will be booked for applicants and then second chart will be prepared. Now passengers do not require seeking berth from ticket checking staff inside the train.
