Rs 1.70 cr is being given to victims under NALSA’s new scheme of compensation to rape victims
 
Under different schemes of Govt, it is estimated that 7,43,583 people are being benefitted and Rs 140 crore are being distributed among the beneficiaries 
 
Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) New Delhi, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA) in collaboration with Government of Chhattisgarh has launched the e-Mega Camp series in 23 districts and 64 talukas across State on Saturday. Executive Chairman of the CGSLSA Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra inaugurated the e-Mega Camp series. Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court and Chairman of Computerisation Committee of the High Court Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and Judge of the High Court and Chairman of High Court Legal Services Committee Justice Goutam Bhaduri were present on the occasion.
 
The inauguration took place virtually from the Conference Hall of Chhattisgarh High Court. ‘Sadbhavna Series’ for specially-abled persons was also launched on this occasion. Under this series, videos on legal awareness for specially-abled person have been prepared in collaboration of Social Welfare Department, Chhattisgarh. During the inaugural session, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra said that the CGSLSA is committed to ensure the access of social justice to all poor and marginalised people of society, therefore, the Authority has come up with e-Mega Camp series across Chhattisgarh. Justice Mishra also said that there are so many schemes of NALSA and the government, but peoples are not aware about these schemes. By conducting e-Mega Camp series across Chhattisgarh, the CGSLSA has tried to spread legal awareness about all welfare schemes and legislations apart from strengthening the community’s access to these schemes and schemes of NALSA as well.
 
The Executive Chairman of the CGSLSA said that one month long campaign will be also run, whereby District Legal Services Authority (DLSAs) through Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) shall identify the people having different grievances and their grievances will be registered through helpline number ‘15100’ and NYAY mobile app, which shall, in turn, be sent to concerned Government departments for necessary redressal. In his address, Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava said that it is the duty of every public servant to work for the needy people and via this kind of mega camps, needs of people and their legal problem will definitely be addressed effectively. In his address Justice Goutam Bhaduri said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, people were not able to get the benefits of governments welfare schemes that is why it is a very unique initiative on the part of the CGSLSA to conduct this kind of e-Mega camp series across Chhattisgarh. In-charge Registrar Deepak Tiwari, Advocate General Satish Chandra Verma; Member Secretary of the CGSLSA Siddharth Aggarwal, officials of the registry and lawyers of the High Court were present on the occasion. District and Sessions Judges, judicial officials, lawyers, administrative officers and police officers attended the inaugural programme through video conferencing.
