In view of the Cleanliness Survey 2021, Durg Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Indrajeet Burman chaired a meeting at data centre and evaluated the arrangements of sanitation in the city. He also instructed the Health officers, Sanitary Inspectors and Supervisors to study the criteria of cleanliness survey 2021 and complete the sanitary works as per the guidelines. DMC officers including Durgesh Gupta, Jasveer Singh Bhuval and others were present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, supervisors from ward 39, 43, 24 and 49, who were absent from the review meeting will be issued notices as per directives from the commissioner. During the meeting, he asked the officers to prepare a workplan for their respective wards for fulfilling the criteria under the Swachhata Sarvekshan 2021. He asked the supervisors to patrol the wards on foot to ensure removal of garbage. The Commissioner also asked them to inspect the vegetable markets, Mandi areas as well as shops and verify whether the sellers have been using the dustbins or not.

He informed during the meeting that the residents make GVP points where people dump the garbage daily while urging the residents for giving the garbage to municipal corporation’s rickshaws collecting it and avoiding creation of trash points near their homes. He also warned that on finding such points, actions will be initiated against the concerned supervisor. He specifically asked for removal of plastic from near ponds, drains and roads.
