Women in villages should form self help groups (SHGs) and push their products in nearby city markets so that they can generate some income in addition to working as farm help. This was suggested by Sachin Ahirkar, Director, Krushi Bharat Naturals, while addressing valedictory function of two day skill training camp organised by Agriculture Department at Mangrul village in Nagpur Tehsil.
 
Ahirkar speaking further promised to purchase all the produce prepared by SHGs as he provided information about various small scale industries that can be set-up in village. He also gave detailed information on various processing units that can be set-up.
 
The two-day camp was organised under ATMA to provide skill training to farm labourers and motivate them to become entrepreneurs. Gajanan Girolkar, President, Anaj India, was the main faculty at the programme. Gangadhar Thorat, retd. Patwari and Agriculture Expert and Vaishali Mandpate, Sarpanch, Mangrul Gram Panchayat, were also present at the function. Thorat provided tips on improving farm productivity and explained in details various experiments carried out by him. Shilpa Tembhurnikar, Agricultural Assistant, ATMA, provide information on tilling the lands using machines, tips for improving soil productivity, necessity on keeping gaps during sowing, benefits of using machines etc. Shubhangi Khete, Agricultural Assistant, gave introductory speech.
