Covid-19 recovery rate improves to 93.70% in Nagpur distt

After witnessing dip in recovery rate for last two days, Nagpur district on Friday registered improvement in Covid-19 recovery rate to 93.70%. On Thursday, the recovery rate was 93.61%. The number of persons becoming corona-free on Friday too improved. With 338 persons recovering, the cumulative recovery reached 99,460. With the increase in recovery the active cases that saw spurt in last two days too reduced on Friday. The active cases reported on Friday are 3,179.
 
On Friday, 255 persons tested positive for coronavirus of which 60 cases are from Nagpur rural while 195 are from Nagpur city. With these the cumulative positive cases reached 1,05,515.
 
The death count maintained the single digit in one single day. On Friday, Covid-19 deaths were 6 of which 5 were the residents of Nagpur city while one person became victim of this dreaded virus in Nagpur rural. This has taken the cumulative death numbers to 3,058.
 
The testing in Nagpur district further increased to 5,588. Nagpur rural registered 987 testing and city witnessed 4,601. The samples examined through RT PCR were 3,691 while 1,897 were through Rapid Antigen Test. The cumulative number reached 6,90,512.
 
Apart from the samples of Nagpur district, the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined. The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include virology laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (794), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (428), molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (76), National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (62), Centre for Zoonosis, Nagpur Veterinary College affiliated to Maharashtra Animal Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU) (72), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (122) private laboratories (2,137), Antigen (1,897).
