Soldier from Katol killed in Gurez in shelling by Pak

Naik Bhushan Satai, attached to 6 Maratha Light Infantry of the Indian Army and a native of Katol town in Nagpur district, attained martyrdom on Friday during ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in four districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
 
Born on October 3, 1992, Bhushan Satai joined the Indian Army on March 26, 2011. He was posted with 6 Maratha Light Infantry, under HQ 109 Infantry Brigade Division at Kanzalwan in Gurez sector in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. During the mortar shelling from Durmat post in ceasefire violation by Pakistan at 1.15 pm on Friday, Naik Bhushan Satai attained martyrdom. The mortal remains of the martyr will be brought to Nagpur airport by Saturday afternoon. Then, the mortal remains will be moved from Nagpur to Katol in an ambulance.
 
Anil Deshmukh, Home Minister of Maharashtra who represents Katol-Narkhed constituency of State Legislative Assembly, paid tributes to the martyr. Ravindra Khajanji, Resident Deputy Collector, said that the last rites would be performed at Katol.
 
Sachin Pabbewar, police constable and a friend of Naik Bhushan Satai, told ‘The Hitavada’ that Satai was a resident of Bhatpura in Katol town. “We studied together in Nabira College in Class XI and XII. I remember him as a devoted soldier,” he said.
 
Naik Bhushan Satai is survived by father Rameshrao, who works as a labourer, mother Meera, sister, and a younger brother who is pursuing a degree from a college in Katol.
