Janjati Gaurav Diwas is celebrated on November 15 every year
 
 
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is celebrating Janjati Gaurav Diwas today, remembering the sacrifice of great patriot Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing a state level programme, organized on the birth anniversary of Shaheed Birsa Munda to pay tribute to the tribal heroes and to remember their sacrifices on Janjati Gaurav Diwas at Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum today.
 
The CM said that Shaheed Birsa Munda sacrificed his life fearlessly, protecting the Indian pride, freedom as well as fighting against the suppression and exploitation of the British. Chouhan said that the name of the Aadim Jati Kalyan Vibhag of the state government will be changed to Janjati Karya Vibhag. Efforts have been made to save the art, culture, dance, tradition and values of life of the tribes at Tribal Museum. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government belongs to everyone.
 
A large part of Madhya Pradesh’s treasury is being spent on the socio-economic upliftment of the poor. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Samrasta Chhatravas will be built in Madhya Pradesh, in which children of every section of the society will study. He said that a fixed percentage of seats will be reserved for tribal students in all the government hostels. Poor students of all classes will be given admission at 10 percent seats in the scheduled tribe hostel.
