After enduring the separation for seven-and-half months, doors of abode of God would once again beckon the devotees from today. With Maharashtra Government giving nod for opening religious places, hectic activity was witnessed across city as final touches were being given for cleaning and dusting before devotees start their visits at Temples, Mosques, Churches, Gurudwaras etc. In fact, a new week is set to begin from Monday onwards on a vibrant and devotional note for the devotees who may throng the religious places in record numbers to be one with the God.

For devotees the physical visits to religious places of their respective faith would end the void in their lives as the pandemic has been cause of to many troubles. Ever since COVID-19 outbreak put brakes on regular lifestyle and the added lockdown was really a testing time for humanity. The calamity that befell the society caused much destruction, physically, financially and mainly mentally. Hence, the reopening of abode of God would provide the opportunity for devotees to again immerse themselves in devotion. For the citizens its again a time to renew their lost touch with God.

The ban post national wide lockdown had put on hold visits to religious places where people used to find solace for all the troubles in their lives. Thus locking away of religious places was a devastation in terms of mental peace for the devotees who had been longing for ending the separation since long. The long wait was quite agonising for the people even as they tried to pick-up pieces from the destruction caused by the pandemic. They waited for the religious places to open as people would find solace during these troubled times. The separation was becoming unbearable for the regulars for whom a visit to God's abode used to routine before lockdown. Gearing for opening post nod from Maharashtra Government, the management of religious places in city got into act and carried out through cleaning.

At Koradi, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Chairperson, Shree Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Mandir Sansthan, Koradi, would perform aarti at 11 am. Devotees should observe all the norms while visiting the temple, said Dattu Samritkar, Secretary. Unlike other institutions that took a while to attract people, Temples, Mosques, Church, Gurudwara would see a beeline of devotees who had been relentless awaiting their opening. Since nation wide lockdown from last week of March, the seven and half month proved to be testing time for the devotees who longed for a brief glimpse of their deity. The prayers of people of all faith finally echoed in corridors of power who after weighing all current options decided to go ahead with opening religious places.
