Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Daggubati Purandareswari, a flamboyant Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Andhra Pradesh, has been appointed as the new BJP State In-charge for Chhattisgarh. She will be assisted by Nitin Nabin, a senior BJP Legislator from Bihar, as co-In-charge. BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda had appointed State In-charges for 36 states/UTs including Chhattisgarh ahead of Diwali on November 13.

Accordingly, BJP National General Secretary and former Union MoS (HRD, Commerce) Daggubati Purandareswari has been appointed Chhattisgarh State BJP In charge. Along with Chhattisgarh, she has been given charge of Odisha as well. D Purandareswari, who was elected Member of Parliament twice, had participated in debate on various Bills such as ‘Domestic Violence Bill, Hindu Succession Amendment Bill and the Bill on the establishment of special courts exclusively for trying cases of women to name a few and made meaningful contributions.

D Purandareswari, who’s fluent in five languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, English and French and branded as ‘Sushma Swaraj of South India’, due to her aggressive speeches, will have a tough job in boosting morale and self-confidence among party office-bearers and workers, which is all time low after the party was doomed by the ruling Congress during 2018 polls.
