ANDA, GAURA GAURI festival was celebrated in rural and urban locations amidst traditional fervor. The festival commenced with Dhanteras night. On the next day, people worshipped Gaura Chaura and third day on Diwali, marriage procession of Gauri Gaura was taken across the village.
 
The clay from nearby pond was used in making Gauri Gaura idols which are installed in Gaura Chaura for worship. Idols were immersed on Gowardhan Puja, on the second day of Diwali. Festival symbolizes social harmony and it is maintained in rural pockets.
 
Festival was celebrated in Anda, Chingri, Kuthrel, Vinayakpur, Nikum, Janjgiri, Chandkhuri, Matiya, Odarsakri and other nearby villages. Shalik Ram Nirmalkar, Pramila Raju, Videsh Thakur, Narendra Thakur and many other villagers termed Gauri Gaura as an auspicious festival.
