Man commits suicide after killing mother, wife, kids

In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after killing his mother, wife and two children in Raipur. The crime took place at village Kendri in the outskirts of Raipur under Abhanpur police station limits late last evening. “Prima-facie investigation suggests that the man might have murdered his mother, wife and two children and later, committed suicide by hanging self. Further probe in the case is under way,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Yadav. According to police sources, the deceased were identified as Kamlesh Sahu (35), his mother Lalita Bai (60), wife Pramila Sahu (30), daughter Kumari Kirti Sahu (10) and son Narendra Sahu (8).
As the house was locked from inside, it seems like Kamlesh might have committed suicide after killing others. Police have sent the bodies for autopsy and further course of action will be decided on the basis of findings of the report. Investigation is under way to ascertain the reason which forced the man to take such an extreme step, informed sources.
Police investigators and revenue officials have been directed to probe on separate angles including financial crisis, loan burden, health condition or any other reason, added police sources. After being informed about the incident, a police team along with experts from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were rushed to the spot for undertaking Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), said police sources, elaborating that no suicide note was recovered from the house. Taking the incident seriously, Chhattisgarh’s Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu ordered a probe into the case and had telephonic conversation with SSP. Meanwhile, the Home Minister takes stock of the case and directed the SSP to ensure extensive investigation to ascertain the cause of deaths. Besides, Minister Sahu had directed police personnel, who reached the spot, to pay special attention to transportation and autopsy of the bodies.
