Continuing its crackdown against sedative drugs, Saraswati Nagar Police have arrested three youths allegedly indulged in selling psychotropic pills and syrups. “Following a tip-off about illegal selling of sedative pills and syrups at Kukurbeda areas in limits of Saraswati Nagar police station, a police team under the guidance of Azad Chowk City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ankita Sharma rushed to the spot and intercepted three youths. During checking, police have recovered psychotropic tablets and syrups from them,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Lakhan Patle.
 
Patle further informed that the arrested peddlers were identified as Sohel Ali (23), Mohsin Ali (18), both residents of Irani Dera under Pandri police station, and Sanjay Choudhary (20), of Rajatalab in Civil Lines police station limits. From their possession, police have recovered a two-wheeler, sedative pills, psychotropic syrups and Rs 1,500 cash earned by selling the drugs.
 
In this connection, Saraswati Nagar Police have registered an offence against the arrested trio under relevant Section of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and produced them in a local court from where they were sent to judicial custody, informed police sources.
