RAIPUR,

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will be dedicating the country’s first Mobile Women Special Clinic named as ‘Dai-Dadi Clinic’, to mark the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Indira Gandhi, on Thursday. This an unique initiative towards women empowerment where female doctors will be providing free medical care to female patients. This initiative will be run under the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme.

This will be one of its kind mobile medical clinic which will be giving free health care to women patients only. These mobile clinics will have female doctors, nurses, technicians and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) to take care of female and girl children residing in slums and labor colonies. Initially the scheme is being initiated in three municipal corporations including Raipur, Bhilai and Bilaspur for women. In the Mobile Women Special Clinic, primary medical care will be provided to women and girls with additional facilities like examination of breast cancer, training to women beneficiaries how to self-examine breast cancer symptoms, regular and special examination of pregnant women, etc.

With the help of Women and Child Welfare Department, facilities of Mobile Women Special Clinic will be provided in urban areas on pre-fixed days, near Anganbadi centres in slum areas. Along with the clinical facilities, benefits of all beneficiary oriented schemes and projects pertaining to pregnant women, children, etc run by the Women and Child Welfare Department, will be provided.

The initiative has been taken after it came to fore that in slum and rural areas, women patients generally feel shy in visiting general clinics for clinical interventions like family planning initiatives, copper-T insertion, availability of emergency pills, contraceptive pills, contraceptive injections, family planning counseling, STD counseling, etc. Since this mobile clinic will be having women staff members, women can avail the benefits without any kind of hesitation.
