POLICE arrested a gang of three thieves and confiscated stolen valuables from their possession in Shivpuri area of Jamul, Durg on Friday noon. The gang was involved in thefts those reportedly occurred in Industrial Area of Jamul, Durg in the recent past. The accused were remanded to jail from the court following their arrest. Police sources informed that the accused were identified as Chetan Gandharwa, T Kamraju and Sharma Sona, all residents of Labour Camp, Jamul, Durg.
 
The Police said that after a tip-off, a team of Jamul police swung into action and apprehended the accused who during interrogation in police custody confessed their involvement in thefts and the team also recovered stolen valuables, including water pumps, pipes, starter boxes, hammer drillers etc. As per the confession of the accused, they committed thefts in various industrial units of Industrial Area in Jamul, Durg in the recent past.
 
The police team trapped the accused while they were looking for customers to dispose of ill-gotten valuables for procuring money in Shivpuri area of Jamul. The police have registered the offence against the accused under Section 379 of Indian Penal Code for indulging in the criminal acts of theft. The police are investigating to initiate further legal action in the matter.
