Minister Dr Nitin Raut finding himself helpless as he doesn’t have support from CM, Deputy CM

Making serious allegations against Maharashtra Government that it was telling lies as far as waiving off energy bills upto 100 units are concerned, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, former Minister and State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party said, “About 5 crore people in state are affected because of several issues of Energy Department. Government had assured that it would waive off the bills upto 100 units but it has not fulfilled the same. The solution lies in giving Rs 5,000 crore to Energy Department. But, Government is not showing willingness to do that.

Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister are not supporting Energy Minister. If the Transport Department can get Rs 1,000 crore why the Energy Department gets step-motherly treatment is the million dollar question.” While addressing mediapersons at Press Club on Thursday morning Bawankule pointed out, “Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister are ignoring serious issues in state. They are defaming name of Dr Nitin Raut who has come from a humble background. Dr Raut is willing to give respite to the consumers but he alone can’t take steps. I think Dr Raut should step down to maintain his dignity.”

“If people fail to pay the energy bills and officers of MSEDCL try to cut the power connection, BJP would reach there in support of the consumer. I congratulate Raj Thackeray, for taking up the issue of energy bills and I assure him that BJP would back his agitation.” Expressing shock over the decision of Government of releasing Rs 1,000 crore to Transport Department on urgent basis, Bawankule asked why Government is not treating Energy Department in the same manner. Commenting that with wrong policies of this Government State is heading towards experiencing anarchy, Bawankule accused, “State is experiencing rise in cases of sand smuggling and there is no check on it.

Liquor too is being sold illegally everywhere whose rates are decided at Nagpur, Bhandara, Yavatmal. There are several illegal activities are going on but no action is being taken. I am talking straight and without fear. I don't have any problem in facing any open enquiry in any matter if Government feels so.” Bawankule further alleged, “This Government has ignored Vidarbha Statutory Development Board through which it has closed the doors of development of this region. By not holding winter session of State Legislature the Government showed its ignorance towards Vidarbha. As per the 1956 Nagpur agreement the Government should have hold the session. If it is holding session in Mumbai then why not in Nagpur. There is nothing concrete for Vidarbha in the Rs 10,000 package announced by the Government.” Those present in the press conference were MLC Pravin Datke, President of Nagpur unit of BJP; Rajya Sabha Member Dr Vikas Mahatme, MLC Nago Ganar, MLAs Tekchand Sawarkar, Krishna Khopde, Sanjay Bhende.

‘Bawankule has no business to talk about Dr Raut’ Balasaheb Thorat, President of Mahrashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) criticised Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Energy issue. He said, Bawankule has no business to talk about Dr Nitin Raut. The allegations of Bawankule that Dr Raut is ignored in party has no value. In fact Bawankule is trying to create differences among partners, pointed out Thorat.

‘Graduates will teach lesson to MVA’ Criticising the policies of Mahavikas Aaghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra, Chandra-shekhar Bawankule who is in-charge of Graduates Constituency for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said, “Sandip Joshi is contesting elections as a candidate of BJP, Bahujan Republican Ekta Manch, Republican Party of India (RPI) (Athawale). Whatever claims MVA is making, voters know who is honest. Congress doesn’t have ability to lead. Fadnavis Government has never deprived farmers of power. In fact in our regime we have given 7 lakh connections to farmers in Vidarbha. I am sure graduate voters would not pardon MVA and will teach lesson in this election to MVA.”
